Officers for the Jayhawk Elementary PTO met on Tuesday, October 9. Officers present were Treasurer Bonnie Riley and Secretary Angela Holt. Tiffany Champlin was also present.
Treasurer’s Report
Bonnie gave the Treasurer’s Report. PTO currently has $8,223.33 in savings and $3,14.54 in checking.
Labels Collection
Angela gave the report on the fall labels collection contest. Totals were as follows:
Auburn Caps: 1,502 @ .25 cents/cap = $375.50
Best Choice: 9,000 @ .03 cents/label= $270.00
Box Tops: 3,274 @ .10 cents/label = $327.40
Mrs. Black’s 2nd Grade class collected the most, with a total of 1,573 labels brought in.
Arts & Crafts Parade
Angela has made fliers to hand out. Everyone is welcome to walk/ride with the group. Those walking with PTO are encouraged to wear a JES shirt, if possible.
Trunk or Treat
Angela will make a sign-up for trunks in the elementary office. She will also make coupons for a free cotton candy to distribute to JES students.
It was decided to make signs/have cones to block the entrance to the back parking lot at JES so that only the vehicles participating in Trunk or Treat are allowed into the area.
Angela will email teachers, asking for volunteers for cake walk goodies.
There will be games such as ring toss, pumpkin bowling, and balloon darts available for the kids.
It was also decided to have concessions be priced at $1, with coffee and hot chocolate priced at .50 cents.
Dinner with Santa
Angela will send a letter to various groups, asking if they would like to perform for 20-minute sessions during the event. Letters will be sent to a local Bellringers group, the Rockin’ Hawks, Christian Strings, Linn County Dance, and to the Elementary and High School bands.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
