1.) Snag...
While visiting your child's classroom during Parent/Teacher Conferences, Snag a Leaf. Near your child's classroom there are Pumpkins with leaves on them. Written on the leaves there are various supplies your teacher needs. Grab a leaf and donate the item to the classroom. Simple. Teachers love gifts they can use for their students! 2.) Submit... Last school year we earned over $1400 in redeeming labels!! There is currently a label collection contest going on between the classes. The kids all know, the class with the most wins a special party! The party could be a Luau, an Ice Cream Social, a Pop/Popcorn party, a Pizza Party, or go on a walk for ice cream cones. The possibilities are endless and the winning class decides what their party will be. Submit your qualifying Box Tops for Education, Label's for Education and Best Choice UPCs to count toward the classroom total. For the current contest, we've already counted over 8,000 labels!!! Contest ends OCTOBER 31st! Check out Box Tops for ways to earn online. 3.) Volunteer/Donate... Sign up for anything from working a concession stand, to donating a food item, to being a room parent and everything in between. There are many different ways to be involved, at your convenience. Please check the class party sheets tab for any voids there may be for your child's class. The first holiday party is sneaking up quickly! 4.) Appreciate... October is Principal Appreciation Month. Let us all give a little recognition for Mr. Proffitt for doing a wonderful job with our children. For the parents with older children, Mr. Brown and Mr. Dillon deserve a pat on the back as well. A simple "Thank You" can go a long way. By showing gratitude we can ensure a great parent/school supportive relationship. A win/win for everyone. *Ready...Set...GO!* Now through October 31st, send in your qualifying Box Tops, Labels for Education and Best Choice UPCs to count toward the collection contest. Weekly progress will be posted in the school cafeteria. As you know, the class with the most labels gets a special classroom party! We need volunteers. As always, PTO is not possible without it's volunteers. -PTO will also be needing a handful of parents to provide a dish to go along with a deli tray (side, dessert, bag of chips, package of cookies, etc) for the Appreciation Meal on October 23rd. The JES Staff all deserve a pat on the back and this is a small way to thank them for what they do. -PTO will be doing the concessions for the Junior High Basketball games (@ JES) and need workers. Concessions are a great way for PTO to earn money for the kids, helping keep the need for fundraisers down to a minimum. Please view the "Calendar" tab for game dates and times. -PTO needs help with the Carnival (November 16th). We will need people to help set up, work games, serve food, hand out prizes, and clean up. If you can help, please call, e-mail, comment, or get in touch with Annie, Christina, Stephanie or Jill. Our contact info is on our "Contact us" tab. Thank you to all who attended the meeting yesterday. For those of you who could not be there a meeting summary will be posted soon. October is officially here, which means another PTO meeting! Please join us tomorrow (Tuesday, October 2nd, @ 4pm in the JES Work Room). Our meetings typically last about an hour. We try to get a lot accomplished in a short time. Time is valuable to us all. We will continue the planning of the Carnival (scheduled November 16th), a Label Contest and more. Jot down your thoughts and join us. Bring a friend while you're at it!
